19 Reflections on God’s Perfect Plan to Bring You Peace
Have you ever heard the term “control freak” and secretly wondered if it might define you? I used to hold on so tightly to mechanisms of seeming control, whether to-do lists or agendas or overall rules in general, thinking they were to be trusted and would never fail. But they do—governments fall. Families disintegrate. At times, rules actually are made to be broken (though as a rule-follower since birth, the idea makes me shudder!). Flexible guidelines evolve, then change to something else entirely.
One of the most important pieces of wisdom I’ve come to understand is recognizing there is a larger plan at work in the world and in my life, even if I don’t always know what that is. I was a super smart kid, but over the years, realizing I don’t actually know it all has come to be a source of great comfort. After all, I am human, temporary, fallible, sometimes weak and always imperfect.
God, however, is not—God is perfect. All-knowing. Almighty. Supreme.
God created the world and everything in it, and God’s design shaped all that ever was, is, and will be.
With that in mind, I compiled a list of some of the blogs I’ve written over the last few years (19 of them) on the comfort and peace I’ve come to know from trusting in God’s promises. God has a plan, a proverbial big picture, and we have only to recognize it and bring ourselves into alignment with it. Out of that trust and obedience we can experience the most powerful and blissful joy.
